2016 WINE SHOW RESULTS

2016 has again seen our wines receive great reviews including the International Judge's Wine of Show Trophy at the 2016 McLaren Vale Wine Show. Other great reviews from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion.

 2016 Chalk Hill Vermentino

95 points - International Judge's Wine of Show Trophy, 2016 McLaren Vale Wine Show

2014 Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis Titan Shiraz

95 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
'Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2014 Alpha Crucis Titan Shiraz has classic nose of warm blueberries, blackberry preserves and spiced plum with touches of cloves, dried herbs, anise and black pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate packs in an array of vibrant fruit and spice flavour layers with velvety tannins and great freshness, finishing with wonderful length and depth'.

 2015 Grenache Tempranillo

95 points James Halliday, 2017 Australian Wine Companion
'A labrador wine that is desperate to please, wagging its tail furiously, and succeeding handsomely. The sheer purity of the red berry assemblage rests upon the modest alcohol, oak and tannins doing a disappearing trick - they're still there but are hard to detect. Drink to 2025'.

essentially smooth dark and fruit forward, with notes of tobacco and mint
adding to the charm. Excellent value'.

2012 Chalk Hill Cabernet Sauvignon

'This may be - indeed it is - the entry point wine for Chalk Hill
cabernet, but it is a great advertisement for the synergy between the region and

variety: cassis fruit, a nice savoury subplot, and a firm, well-balanced finish.
Well priced.'
93 points James Halliday
Gold Medal - New Zealand International Wine Competition 2013
Gold Medal - McLaren Vale Wine Show 2013

2012 Chalk Hill Luna Shiraz

'Dense, deep purple-crimson: an extraordinary wine with more blackberry fruit

per dollar than any other shiraz I can recollect ever tasting; Durif would be its
only competitor. It is a velvety, luscious mouthfeel of fruit, dark chocolate and soft tannins,
whatever oak used no longer visible - and not needed. Exceptional value'

93 points, James Halliday
91 Points Wine Showcase Magazine
Gold Medal - San Diego International Wine Competition

2012 Chalk Hill Sangiovese

91 Points, Mike Bennie, WBM Magazine

2014 Chalk Hill Vermentino

'From a single vineyard in McLaren Vale; a Vermentino that has been fermented

in stainless steel. This is bright, fresh, new and shiny. Terrific value.
Offers pears and minerally notes. Crunchy clean acidity. Decent length and well balanced.
One to chill and enjoy.'

89 points, Ken Gargett, Drinks Magazine
90 points, Rob Geddes MW, Australian Wine Vintages
Silver Medal - McLaren Vale Wine Show
Silver Medal - Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show

2012 Chalk Hill Sidetrack

'All it should be, as in it has a beginning, dark ripe red/black

soft fruit smell followed with plenty of flavours across the palate and a good finish and very good value.'
93 points Tony Keys, The Keys report
