Chalk Hill’s Cellar Door is nestled atop our organic vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale.

You will come for the award-winning wines and stay for the picturesque views.

You are welcome to relax on our infinity lawns, weather permitting. 

Our cellar door is open daily from 11am. 

Bookings are highly recommended.

 Chalk Hill Wines is a family-owned winery dedicated to producing small batch, hand crafted wines of distinction since 1964. 

We officially opened our Cellar Door in 2020 and offer a range of tasting experiences for all to enjoy.

Reserve a table for wine and lunch on the deck or in our Alpha Crucis Lounge.
For the best food and wine pairing experience, we recommend booking a tasting prior to your table.

Redeemable table deposit on wines by the glass, beers, ciders and soft drinks at Chalk Hill’s Wine Bar. 
Cucina di Strada will be serving up Italian style street-food that pairs perfectly with our Mediterranean varietals.

Please note that Chalk Hill Wines, Cucina di Strada and Never Never Distilling Co. are separate businesses that all operate independently within the Chalk Hill Collective site.

Please note Chalk Hill Wines is a cashless venue.

BYO food, drink, decorations, furniture, ball games footballs etc, aren’t permitted at Chalk Hill

Licensed buses. *Mini vans and buses need management approval. If you’re arriving by a large bus or mini van, please advise our cellar door team prior. You will need to show approval on arrival.

Large groups on weekends. The largest group we are currently able to accommodate at our cellar door is ten on weekends and public holidays. What about a weekday, I hear you ask? We’re much more flexible. Send us an email and we’ll do our best to accommodate. [email protected]

The answer is yes:

Family friendly?
You better believe! Please make a note on bookings if you require a highchair etc. We need all guests, even children booked in for seating. Any guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

Dogs?
Absolutely, we encourage it. If you trust you dog in a family friendly setting, then we trust you. Dogs will need to remain on a leash and of course be cleaned up after.

Day Out?
For the ultimate day out, make a booking with us at Chalk Hill Wines then make a booking to visit our friends at Never Never Distilling Co. 

 

Can I walk in the vineyards?

Fun fact: Chalk Hill is an organic vineyard, actually, all of the Harvey’s vineyards are. Please respect our environmentally sustainable viticulture practices and don’t walk in our vines.

Is food available at the cellar door?

Cucina di Strada serve up delicious Italian street food, coffee and sweets. This can be ordered, paid for and collected at their counter, they are a separately run entity.

Chalk Hill Wines is not a restaurant, we’re a cellar door.
We ask that you book a table on our decking area to enjoy lunch and your favourite glass of Chalk Hill Wines. 

Public holidays

On public holidays we open from 12pm.
Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day
